Dark Souls Gets a ‘Roguelike’ Remodel

Dark Souls has garnered quite a following over the years. It has been known for being a worthy foe of the players. A famously difficult game is made even more tough and fun by overhauling the game with different mods. Somehow, the players still want an even more difficult version of the game.
The newest MOD changes the gameplay completely
In this MOD, named Rouguelike Souls- The Binding of Lordan, the players are playing inside a culmination of two games. ‘The Binding of Isaac’ is combined with Dark Souls to give the game a completely new look and has a little surprise too. As per the description of the mod, Dark Souls gameplay is changed with rouge-like features, and competition of tasks furthers your avatar in the game to the next part of the story.
A randomized version of the whole game!
There is a randomizer twist that will test the player’s ability to survive in different situations, unknown of what to expect next. It randomizes bosses, sequences, loots and some other events. There’s no way to know what might be coming your way and players will be required to conquer sequences of levels which have a random enemy type, and you land in an unknown location every time (might take a while to get the hang of it).
Lives are limited; after 5, game over
Unlike the unlimited respawn in Dark Souls, this mod has a limit of five deaths before they lose all progress and are sent back to Firelink Shrine. They have to start over from the shrine, but any people that you rescued will stay in the location to give you random bonuses throughout the game.
Every time you install the mod, it will generate weapons, spells and armour. There are also enemy animations which are given random speeds. So, some enemies might attack you fast and furiously, while others will take their own sweet time. In the event of an unlikable game generation, players will have to uninstall and install the mod again and wish that they get gameplay of their choice and favoured style.
Nexus Mods page has the mod on its site, for those who want to check it out. Authored by Grimukh, he was previously known for creating the Daughter of Ash mod last year. Those familiar with his work, will already be excited. But if you didn’t catch Daughters of Ash, that’s even more reason to try the new mod made for Dark Souls.
Dark Souls was a game that started its movement. There weren’t many games like this one in the market at the time, and it created a huge buzz among the fans. You could say it started a video-game genre of its own. With these new mods and remasters, it remains one of the most amazing games in recent history.
Dark Souls Remastered is available for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch all over the world.
