How to Organize Your Spotify Library

A big collection of Spotify can be a challenging task to organize. A variety of music with so many genres, hundreds of playlists, and a vast choice to make. Not only music, but Spotify also provides you with podcasts in a huge range.

A Spotify library can hold 10,000 tracks, and you can separate or arrange these libraries based on the artists, genre, albums, etc.

Let us first talk about the advantages of creating Spotify Playlist/Library:

Connect with the audience
Social media is a great influence to make new connections and start a conversation over anything and everything. But Spotify brings together people who are music lovers and you can find people of your own kind.

Each time you discover new music
As mentioned earlier, Spotify has hundreds and thousands of tunes you can listen to. And every time you want to discover, you can’t get enough of what it provides. You can build a huge playlist for every occasion and mood and get to the swing of it.

Promote artists
You might have come across people who support and promote the artists they like because they feel very connected to the content they create or the style they offer. You can do the same by not only following your desired artists, but sharing their music amongst your friends and family.

Organize your Spotify Library

Here’s how you can organize your Spotify library to make it simple to access and use:

Saving songs and albums
The two methods you can save music to your library is by saving songs and saving albums. Songs are the individual tracks that you can add to your playlist, all you need to do is tap on the heart icon present next to the song name and add it to the desired playlist.

An album is the complete set of songs by a movie, an artist, etc. to save an album, open the album that you want to save and tap on the heart icon present next to the album name. The complete album will get saved to your ‘Albums’ section.

Follow artists you like
If there is someone specific you listen to, or want to listen to more songs from one particular artist, you can follow them on Spotify. To follow an artist, you can search for them in the ‘Search’ bar. An alternate method is to open any song by the artist, and tap & hold on the song or album name. A pop-up option will appear. Click on the ‘Go to artist’ option.

If you have the page of an artist opened, tap on the ‘Follow’ button below the name. Spotify Premium enables you to download the songs that you’ve saved.

Make separate playlists and folders
Keeping a single playlist of your choice, and others playlist you follow in one folder can create a huge mess. Even though you like the songs added in others’ playlist, it’ll get difficult to find your own whenever you feel like listening to your own playlist.

You can organize and make separate folders for these playlists. Go to the ‘Playlist Collection’ on the left menu of the screen, and click on the ‘Create Folder’ button to create a new folder.

You can create folders for different moods like workout, dance, pop, classical, etc.

Note: Folders can only be created for the Desktop version of Spotify, but you can view the same in the mobile application, anytime you like. You can also set your folders alphabetically for quick and easy access.

If you want to play a whole playlist with one single tap, instead of manually selecting songs, click on the play button on top of the album name. It’ll create a loop for your playlist and will play continuously.
